HYDERABAD: Telangana witnessed a dip in coronavirus case on Monday and has reported 1,302 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, With this the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 1,72,608. The death toll went up to 1,042, with nine new deaths reported on September 21.
According to the health bulletin released by the state health department today, a total of 2,230 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 1,41,930 till date.
The recovery rate in Telangana is 82.22 per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of 79.87 per cent.
The Telangana government had decreased the number of COVID-19 tests in the state and tested only 31, 095 samples between Saturday and Sunday, and a total of 25,19,315 samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 1,205 samples are awaited.
After 2,230 recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, there are currently 29,636 active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 22,990 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest 6,646 patients are in institutional care.
Out of the fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributes the highest coronavirus cases with 246 cases reported in the last 24 hours till Monday morning. Followed by Karimnagar with 102, while Ragareddy reported 98 cases.
