NEW DELHI: Mukesh Ambani on Thursday announced that fully featured and most affordable 4G smartphone developed in partnership between Reliance Jio and Google will be made available In Indian market from September 10. Ambani made this announcement at Reliance Industries’ 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on today, June 24. Ambani said that JioPhone Next’s Android operating system has been optimized to the best possible extent for the 44th AGM of Reliance Industries.
Ambani said that the jio phone will be first launched in India on September 10 and then it will be launched in other countries after that. This smartphone has many advanced features like language translation, automatic-read aloud on screen text, voice assistant, smart camera with augmented reality filters and many more. Jio will be using Google cloud for 5G, said Ambani.
During the announcement about the partnership with Google, Ambani stated that the partnership was an example of a global technology giant and national technology champion working together to make a truly breakthrough product that can be introduced in India first and then taken everywhere else.
As the Internet is becoming more integrated into everyday life, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said it is important to make technology more accessible and helpful for everyone. This goal is part of our success in partnering with Reliance Jio, Sundar said. According to Pichai in a video address at Reliance AGM, Google’s mission is to build products and services that will benefit India’s unique needs at affordable prices.
