HYDERABAD: Telangana struggling hard to vaccinate people aged above 44 years, due to shortage of vaccines in the state. The central government had already announced that a coronavirus vaccine will be made available even for those aged between 18-44 years. But Telangana government hospitals literally stopped the vaccination program even for people above 44 years for 2 days on Saturday and Sunday.
Telangana director of public health and family welfare Dr G. Srinivas Rao made an announcement that no government hospital covid vaccination centres will go ahead with Covid immunization for any age group people for the two days May 1 and May 2 due to shortage of vaccine doses. This is the second time that the state government was left out with no option other than stopping vaccination drives due to vaccines shortage, earlier the corona vaccination drive was stopped for a day on April 18. The state government blames the central government over the lack of sufficient vaccine supplies from the Modi government.
