HYDERABAD: The Telangana state government extended the lockdown by another 10 days by permitting certain relaxations in lockdown timings till June 9. The state government has increased the lockdown relaxation timings from 6 AM to 1 PM. Telangana state cabinet which held a meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on today, May 30, has taken this decision to this effect.
Telangana government had initially announced the lockdown on May 12 for 10 days, but later extended it till May 30. The state government took stock over the coronavirus cases in the state and decided over lockdown extension and other ways to tackle the spread of virus. Earlier due to imposition of lockdown and the relaxation timings are only for four hours i.e between 6 AM to 10 AM, people were seen gathering in huge crowds near the markets, shops and other essential services. To avoid this crowd forming, the state government has taken the decision to extend lockdown relaxation timing for6 hours and extend lockdown for a few more days to contain the spread of coronavirus.
