HYDERABAD: Telangana COVID-19 tally crossed 1,11,688 on Wednesday, with highest single day spike of 3,018 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. The death toll went up to 780, with 10 new fatalities reported on August 26.
According to the health bulletin released by the state health department on today, a total of 1,060 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 85,223. The recovery rate in Telangana is 76.30 per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of 75.92 per cent. Similarly the mortality rate of the state is at 0.69 per cent while the countrywide figure was 1.84 per cent
Telangana government had intensified the COVID-19 tests in the state and reached 60,000 mark in terms of conducting coronavirus tests on daily basis. The state government had tested 61,040 samples between Monday and Tuesday, and a total of 10,82,094 samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 1176 people are awaited.
After 1,060 recovered from the virus, there are currently 25,685 active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 19,113 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest 6,572 patients are in institutional care.
Out of the 3,018 fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation tops the list with the highest of 475 highest infections reported in the past 24 hours till Monday morning.
