HYDERABAD: Telangana reported 2,574 Coronavirus cases on Sunday, With this the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 1, 40, 969. The death toll went up to 886, with nine new cases reported on September 6.
According to the health bulletin released by the state health department today, a total of 2,927 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 1,07,530 till date.
The recovery rate in Telangana is 76.2 per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of 77.29 per cent.
The Telangana government had increased the number of COVID-19 tests in the state and tested 62,737 samples between Friday and Saturday, and a total of 17, 30, 389 samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 3,129 samples are awaited.
After 2,927 recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, there are currently there are 32,553 active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 25, 449 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest 7, 104 patients are in institutional care.
Out of the fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributes the highest coronavirus cases with 325 cases reported in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning. Followed by Ragareddy with 197 cases, while Khammam reported 144 cases.
