HYDERABAD: Telangana reported 2,137 Coronavirus cases on Sunday, With this the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 1,71,306. The death toll went up to 1,033, with eight new deaths reported on September 20.
According to the health bulletin released by the state health department today, a total of 2,192 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 1,39,700 till date.
The recovery rate in Telangana is 81.54 per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of 79.65 per cent.
The Telangana government had lowered the number of COVID-19 tests in the state and tested 53,811 samples between Friday and Saturday, and a total of 24,88,220 samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 1,185 samples are awaited.
After 2,192 recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, there are currently 30,573active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 24,019 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest 6,554 patients are in institutional care.
Out of the fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributes the highest coronavirus cases with 322 cases reported in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning. Followed by Ragareddy with 182 cases, while Medchal reported 146 cases.
