HYDERABAD: Telangana reported 2,159 Coronavirus cases on Thursday, With this the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 1,65,003. The death toll went up to 1005, with nine new deaths reported on September 17.
According to the health bulletin released by the state health department today, a total of 2,108 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 1,33,555 till date.
The recovery rate in Telangana is 80.94 per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of 78.59 per cent. While the death rate of the state is as against the country’s death rate of .
The Telangana government had lowered the number of COVID-19 tests in the state and tested 53,094 samples between Tuesday and Wednesday, and a total of 23,29,316 samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 1,032 samples are awaited.
After 2,108 recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, there are currently 30,443 active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 6,769 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest patients are in institutional care.
Out of the fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributes the highest coronavirus cases with 318 cases reported in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning. Followed by Ragareddy with 176 cases, while Mechal reported 121 cases.
