HYDERABAD: Telangana reported 2,216 Coronavirus cases on Sunday, With this the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 1,57,096 . The death toll went up to 961, with 11 new deaths reported till September 13 morning.
According to the health bulletin released by the state health department today, a total of 2,603 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 1,24,528 till date.
The recovery rate in Telangana is 79.2 per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of 77.84 per cent. While the death rate of the state is 0.6 as against the country’s death rate of 1.65.
After 2,603 recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, currently there are 31,607 active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 24,674 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest patients are in institutional care.
The Telangana government had reduced the number of COVID-19 tests in the state and tested only 56,2144 samples between Friday and Saturday, and a total of 21,34,912 samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 2,345 samples are awaited.
Out of the fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributes the highest coronavirus cases with 341 cases reported in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning. Followed by Ragareddy with 210 cases, while Medchal 148 reported cases.
