Telangana Coronavirus Update October 20: 1486 New Cases and 7 Deaths, 90 per cent Recovery Rate

HYDERABAD: Telangana witnessed a dip in coronavirus cases on Tuesday and has reported  1486 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, With this the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 2,24,545. The death toll went up to 1282, with seven deaths reported on October 20.

According to the health bulletin released by the state health department today, a total of 1891 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 202,577 till date.

The recovery rate in Telangana is 90.21  per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of  88.6 per cent. The death rate is 0.57 in telangana while country’s mortality rate is 1.5

The Telangana government had decreased the number of COVID-19 tests in the state and tested only 42,299 samples between Sunday and Monday, and a total of  samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 923  samples are awaited.

 
After 1891 recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, there are currently  20,686 active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 17,208  patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest  patients are in institutional care.

Out of the 1486  fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributes the highest coronavirus cases with  235 cases reported in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning. Followed by Rangareddy with 112 , while Medchal reported 102 cases.
