HYDERABAD: Telangana on Saturday reported 2,751 COVID-19 cases, With this the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 1,20,116. The death toll went up to 808 , with nine new deaths reported on August 29.
According to the health bulletin released by the state health department on today, a total of 1,675 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 89,350 till date.
The recovery rate in Telangana is 74.3 per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of 76.49 per cent.
The Telangana government had intensified the COVID-19 tests in the state and reached a mark in terms of conducting coronavirus tests on a daily basis. The state government had tested 62,300 samples between Thursday and Friday, and a total of 12,66,643 samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 1,010 people are awaited.
After 1,675 recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, there are currently 30,008 active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 23,049 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest 6,959 patients are in institutional care.
Out of the fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation continues to maintain a worrisome trend with the highest of 432 infections reported in the past 24 hours till Friday morning. Followed by Ranga Redyy with 185 cases, while Medchal reported 128 cases.
