Telangana Coronavirus Update UAgust 27:  2,795 New Cases, 8 Deaths

HYDERABAD: Telangana reported 2,795 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, August 27, With this the cumulative coronavirus cases in the state rose to 1,14,483. The death toll went up to 788 , with eight new fatalities reported on Today.

According to the health bulletin released by the state health department on today, a total of 872 persons have been recovered from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 86,095.

The recovery rate in Telangana is 75.2 per cent as against the country’s recovery rate of 76. 2 per cent. Similarly the mortality rate of the state is at 0.8 per cent while the countrywide figure was 1.84 per cent

Telangana government had intensified the COVID-19 tests in the state and reached 60,00 mark in terms of conducting coronavirus tests on daily basis. The state government had tested 60,386 samples between Tuesday and Wednesday, and a total of 11,42,480 samples were tested in Telangana since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus. But the test reports of 1,075 people are awaited.

After 872 recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, there are currently 27,600 active COVID-19 patients who were infected with the virus. Out of which 20,866 patients are undergoing treatment in home quarantine and the rest patients are in institutional care.

Out of the fresh cases reported in the state, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation tops the list with the highest of 449 highest infections reported in the past 24 hours till Monday morning. Followed by RangaReddy with 268 cases, 164 in Nagarkurnool, Khammam reported 152 cases, 136 cases reported in Karimnagar, while Medchal-Malkajgiri reported 113 cases.
