Minor Boy Set on Fire By Father For Neglecting Studies Dies in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A 10-year-old boy who was set ablaze by a drunken father for neglecting his studies in Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB) area on January 17 night died due to severe injuries today morning.

According to reports, the boy’s father Balu poured terpent oil on his son Charan as he was watching the Television when he was supposed to be studying. The minor boy was rushed to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad doctors treated him for four four days and he succumbed to injuries today morning. Meanwhile the Kukatpally police had registered a case against the father and took him into custody.

Charan was studying class 6 in Kukatpally Government School, the schools remained shut for more than 6 months due to lockdown so the boy started neglecting his studies and the boy’s father has asked him to concentrate on studies rather than wasting his time. But the boy didn’t listen to his father’s advice, angered by this father set his son on fire in a drunken state. Family members of the boy have rushed him to Gandhi Hospital.
