BENGALURU: The Chief Minister Of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa on Monday announced a complete lockdown for 14 days in the state to break the coronavirus chain and contain the further spread of the dreaded coronavirus. This lockdown will be strictly implemented for 14 days starting from Tomorrow night from 9PM, April 27 till May 9.
The public transportation including RTC buses and Metro trains, all the schools, colleges and universities remain non operational during this lockdown period. Only the essential services will be allowed between 6 AM to 10 AM, and after that all the services will remain shut for these 14 days. However there were no restrictions for agriculture, construction and manufacturing sectors. Take away from Restaurants and home delivery of alcohol will be allowed.
The state government has taken this decision in a cabinet meeting after Karnataka witnessed a surge in Coronavirus cases on Sunday with 34,000 cases. Karnataka government to write letter to state election commission to postpone all upcoming elections for at least three months in view of coronavirus.
