India Under High Risk For Coronavirus Strain: 20 UK Returnees Test Positive

NEW DELHI: In a most worrisome trend India continues to record fresh cases of new coronavirus mutant strain which was first reported in the UK in September. India has reported 20 positive cases of Coronavirus mutant strain, till today December 30 morning. Out of these 20 cases, eight cases were registered at National Centre for Disease Control in Delhi, 7 at National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences in Bangalore, while two cases were reported at Cellular and Molecular Biology in Hyderabad. One case each was reported at  National Institute of Biomedical Genomics near Kolkata, National Institute of Virology in Pune and CSIR Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology in Delhi.

India Government is on high alert as new cases of COVID-19 variant are on the rise in the Unite Kingdom(UK). Amid rising cases of coronavirus Strain in the UK, Now the Telangana capital Hyderabad and even AP is also under high risk category for the coronavirus variant as 1,200 passengers from the UK had reportedly landed in Hyderabad and 1,216 passengers landed in AP. Indian government extended the UK flight ban till January 7 amid rising fresh cases of Coronavirus strain.

According to reports, the new coronavirus is 70 percent more transmissible than coronavirus and is also spreading at a fast rate across the world, and Uk has reportedly said that Virus was out of control.
