NEW DELHI: India reported 90,802 new coronavirus positive case on Monday, September 7 said Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With this the case load increased to 42,04,614. The death toll due to the virus rose to 71,642 with fresh 1,016 deaths. India reported the highest positive cases along with deaths across the country in the last 24 hours.
India ranked as the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus pandemic in the world after the United States and Brazil, with highest positive cases being reported on a daily basis.
According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on today, a total of 32,50,429 people recovered from the virus and discharged from hospitals till date.
The country’s recovery rate stands at 77.3 per cent while the fatality rate was at 1.7 per cent.
Currently there are 8,82,542 active cases in the country.
To contain the further spread of the virus India has increased the anti-COVID-19 measures including the improvement of COVID-19 tests conducted across the country.
India had conducted testing on 7,20,362 samples on Sunday, with this a total of 4,95,51,507 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
