India Coronavirus Update September 3: 83,883 New cases, 1,023 Deaths

NEW DELHI: India reported a worst ever single day spike of  83,883 new coronavirus positive case ever since the outbreak of COVID-19  on Thursday 3, said Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With this the case load increased to 38,53,406  and the death toll due to the virus rose to  67,376 with  fresh 1,023 deaths reported across the country in the last 24 hours.

India ranked as the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus pandemic in the world after the United States and Brazil, with highest positive cases being reported on a daily basis.

According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on today, a total of  29,70,492 people recovered from the virus and discharged from hospitals till date.

The country’s recovery rate stands at 77.1  per cent while the fatality rate was at  1.7 per cent.

Currently there are  8,15,538 active cases in the country.

To contain the further spread of the virus India has increased the anti-COVID-19 measures including the improvement of COVID-19 tests conducted across the country.

India had conducted testing on 11,72,179 samples on Wednesday, with this a total of 4,55,09,380 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
