India Coronavirus Update September 11:  Worst Ever Single Day Spike With 96,551 New cases, 1,209 Deaths

NEW DELHI: India reported a highest single day spike in coronavirus positive case by reporting 96,551 new cases on Friday, September 11 said Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With this the case load increased to 45,62,414. The death toll due to the virus rose to 76,271 with fresh 1,209 deaths reported today.

India ranked as the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus pandemic in the world after the United States and Brazil, with highest positive cases being reported on a daily basis.

According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on today, a total of 35,42,663  people recovered from the virus and discharged from hospitals till date.

The country’s recovery rate stands at 77.6  per cent while the fatality rate was at 1.7 per cent.

Currently there are 9,43,480 active cases in the country. 

To contain the further spread of the virus India has increased the anti-COVID-19 measures including the improvement of COVID-19 tests conducted across the country.

India had conducted testing on 11,63,542 samples on Thursday , with this a total of 5,40,97,9 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
