NEW DELHI: India reported a highest single day spike coronavirus positive case by reporting 95,735 new cases on Thursday, September 10 said Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With this the case load increased to 44,65,863. The death toll due to the virus rose to 75,062 with fresh 1,172 deaths reported today.
India ranked as the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus pandemic in the world after the United States and Brazil, with highest positive cases being reported on a daily basis.
According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on today, a total of 34,71,783 people recovered from the virus and discharged from hospitals till date.
The country’s recovery rate stands at 77.7 per cent while the fatality rate was at 1.7 per cent.
Currently there are 9,19,018 active cases in the country.
To contain the further spread of the virus India has increased the anti-COVID-19 measures including the improvement of COVID-19 tests conducted across the country.
India had conducted testing on 11,29,756 samples on Wednesday, with this a total of 5,29,34,433 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
