Hyderabad Rains : 13 Dead In Hyderabad Rains Due to Flooding, House Collapse | Hyderabad On red Alert

HYDERABAD: As many as 13 people were killed due to Hyderabad rains, in various incidents of flooding and house collapse after heavy rains battered Telangana’s capital Hyderabad city  yesterday. Hyderabad is under red alert after it received 32 cm of rain in a single day. Roads and colonies were flooded. Low lying areas were submerged in water. Severe traffic jams occurred at several places. Power supply was halted to Half of the city.

Normal life has been thrown out of gear in Hyderabad city in multiple parts as almost all roads were flooded and even were vehicles being washed away by rain water.

The granite wall of a farmhouse belonging to a Pahilwan in Bandlaguda Mahmadia Nagar fell on two adjacent houses. 11 people were killed in the incident. The dead included three children. All the dead persons belonged to two families. The four others injured were rushed to a moghalpura hospital for treatment. MP Asaduddin Owaisi and MLA Akbar visited those being treated at the hospital.

Police under the guidance of Falaknuma ACP carried out relief operations at the Gaus Nagar. Even MP Asaduddin Owaisi inspected the scene and offered condolences to the families of the victims. Three other people were reported dead in other incidents.

In another incident of house collapse In Ibrahimpatnam a mother and her daughters were killed and the son was seriously injured. Kama Suvarna (37) lives with her daughter Sravanti (14) and son Sampath (18) in a house in Malshettiguda under Ibrahimpatnam Municipality in Rangareddy district. Mother daughter died on the spot son was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Currently GHMC officials from several water-logged areas were shifted to safer places so far following heavy showers. However, officials said that even if the rains stop in Hyderabad for now, there is a possibility of heavy rain on Wednesday and Thursday. There was a risk of thunder and lightning, so people were asked not to come out of their house.
