HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that heavy to very heavy rains would hit Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal, Khammam districts in Telangana for the next few days till Sunday.
The Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao also conducted a review meeting with Chief Secretary Officer Somesh Kumar over the current situation in the state due rains and officials and alerted collectors over the floods in the state. The state government is on high alert in the wake of weather department warnings.
The government has also directed district collectors to be vigilant as the threat of rains is high.
Somesh Kumar instructed the collectors of all the districts to stay vigilant and constantly monitor the possibility of floods in the districts. The CS directed all the concerned authorities to be available at the district headquarters and to take appropriate relief measures in case of emergencies.
He had also ordered collectors to alert those in the low-lying areas over the possibility of floods due to rains. CS suggested that in case of power outages due to falling trees and power poles across the roads, immediate response should reach all the affected places.
