KURNOOL: Andhra Pradesh government is on high alert, as severe cyclonic storm Nivar to cross the north Tamil Nadu coast and the south Andhra around Wednesday, November 25. Several places in AP to witness heavy to very heavy rains on November 25 and 26. Metrological department forecasted that gusty winds more than 100 kmph during the cyclone.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a high alert asking people to stay vigilant and advised farmers of south coastal AP and Rayalaseema to harvest their crops without delay as this cyclonic storm can cause damage to the crops to a great extent. IMD department officials asked fishermen not to venture into the sea, for any fishing activities during these four days.
IMD forecasted that very heavy to extremely heavy rains will be witnessed at isolated places in Rayalaseema and south coastal AP districts on November 25 and November 26, and light to moderate rains will be witnessed in Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts.
