HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s father-in-law and the father of YS Jagan wife YS Bharati EC Gangi Reddy died after a prolonged illness on Friday midnight, October 2.
EC Gangi Reddy is an eminent doctor, who had breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad yesterday midnight. He has been in hospital for a few days, and recently AP CM had also visited him in September.
YS Bharathi immediately left for Hyderabad after the death of her father. Today, YS Jagan and his mother Vijayamma would likely visit Pulivendula for the cremation of EC Gangi Reddy. Authorities are also making arrangements in this regard.
However, months ago, Gangireddy’s elder brother Peda Gangi reddy also died due to illness. Gangi Reddy is also one of the most reputed doctors in Pulivendula. He had also served as the MP for Pulivendula from 2001-2005.
He had helped several people who had met him seeking his help. In 2003, EC Gangireddy made a padayatra from Pulivendula to Kadapa Collectorate to get to know about the problems being faced by people especially by farmers during rabi season.
Even before YS Jagan resigned from the Congress party, Gangi Reddy announced his resignation from the Congress party in protest of the cases against YS Jagan. Perhaps he was the first to resign to the Congress Party.
