First Time In India: 8 Lions In Hyderabad Zoo Test Coronavirus Positive

HYDERABAD: For the first time in India that animals tested positive for the coronavirus, now eight Asiatic lions in Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) of Hyderabad were tested positive for the COVID 19.

According to reports, the zoo officials who noticed a few symptoms of coronavirus in the lions have conducted RT-PCR tests for these lions. Shockingly the results reportedly turned out positive. The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology which collected the samples of lions had reportedly announced that the lions were found infected with corona. Meanwhile the  380-acre zoo official Dr Siddhanand Kukrety confirmed the news and he said that the lions are recovering and they are doing well.
