MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Corporation (BMC) has filed a police case against actor Sonu Sood for his act of converting his six-storey residential building in Juhu into a hotel without taking any permission from the civic body. To this extent the corporation officials lodged a complaint with the Juhu police.
The complaint sought action against Sonu Sood for violating the provisions of the Maharashtra Region and Town Planning Act. Sonu Sood, however, denied the BMC allegations. It was clarified that ‘Change of User’ permission has been obtained from BMC to convert the residential building into a hotel.
Sonu Sood made it clear that he had not violated the rules anywhere. Permits have been obtained from BMC. Permits are required only from Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA). He said approval from MCZMA was being delayed in the wake of COVID 19. Juhu police said they would conduct a preliminary inquiry into the BMC complaint and then register an FIR.
