HYDERABAD: Hyderabad the capital city of Telangana is very well known as the city for its rich cultural heritage and delicious food. But only few know about the divine temples present in the heart of the capital city. Even though Hyderabad is ruled by Nizams for centuries but still there are most famous and mesmerizing temples in the city. Let us have a look at the top 5 divine and most famous temples surrounding the capital city.

1. Shri Jagannath Temple
This temple is located in the heart of Hyderabad city in Banjara hills and was constructed by creation of Kalinga Cultural Trust in 2009. The deity worshipped here is hindu god Jagannath who is called as the God of the Universe. This Jagannath temple is a replica of the original Jagannath Temple in Puri of West Bengal.

 Annual Rathyatra is celebrated in a grand way in this festival where some thousands of devotees across the country visit the temple during the special day every year. This temple will remain open for devotees darshan from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM everyday.

 2) Chilkur Balaji Temple
Most of the people living in the Hyderabad city will be knowing the details about this divine temple situated on the banks of  Osman Sagar in the outskirts of Hyderabad city in Himayat Nagar. The god worshiped here is Lord Balaji Venkateswara, along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi. Chilkur Balaji Temple is popularly known as Visa Balaji Temple, as devotees believe that  if you are waiting to get a Visa and travel abroad then you will soon get a Visa if you pray in this temple.

3) Sanghi Temple
Sanghi Temple is located 35 kms away from the city of Hyderabad at Paramanand Giri hill at Sanghi Nagar and is also one of the most popular sightseeing places in the city due to its  architectural beauty and pleasant atmosphere. Most of the film shootings took place in this temple. This temple is being managed by an industrialist of Sanghi Group.

4) Birla Mandir
Birla Mandir temple is situated at the centre of Hyderabad city near Hussain Sagar Lake and was built by Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission in the 19th century. The deity worshipped here is  Lord Venkateswara Swamy. This temple was built by an industrial group called the Birlas in 1976. The temple has very impressive architecture which attracts every one to visit it at least once in their lifetime. The building of this temple is made of 2,000 tons of pure white marble.

5) Peddamma Temple

Peddamma Temple is situated in Banjara hills of Hyderabad city and the deity worshiped here is Goddess Durga. This temple is very famous and well known to people of both the Telugu states of AP and Telangana. Devotees from different parts of the states visit the temple during the Mahotsavam and Rathotsavam to receive blessings of Goddess Durga.
